Job Title: National Organizer
Job Status: Full-time
Job Summary: Under general supervision, the National Organizer empowers NNAAC members to implement advocacy initiatives and campaigns within their own communities by developing resources and working with NNAAC members to create and deliver on action plans. Develops strategies to take ACCESS policy priorities and create a national impact. Inspires a high level of NNAAC member engagement with shared
advocacy, civic engagement, and other campaign goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Working with ACCESS and NNAAC leadership teams, develop field strategies and action plans for established advocacy and civic engagement goals
Cultivate the leadership of NNAAC member organizations and community organizers to advocate on relevant issues
Engage in strategic communication and relationship building to support continued understanding of membership needs and interests
Gather and identify messaging, design and content for print and electronic communications
Develop campaign toolkits, communication pieces, action plans
Facilitate informational seminars, webinars, community calls to keep membership connected and abreast of network updates, current events and upcoming opportunities
Coordinate with team to develop and execute trainings for NNAAC members and other partners and stakeholders related to assigned issues
Conduct outreach to raise the visibility of assigned advocacy initiatives and organization priorities through community events, tabling and building earned media events
Evaluate success of advocacy, civic engagement, and campaign initiatives across the network
Coordinate with team to develop and execute trainings for community members and other partners and stakeholders related to issue area
Build and develop relationships with strategic partners including individuals and community organizations to accomplish advocacy and civic engagement objectives
Direct and oversee the work of others conducting community organizing work
Meet all reporting requirements based on assigned functional area
May participate in grant-writing May research, write and edit communication pieces designed to promote and enhance the program including writing press releases, news briefs, e-newsletters, e-mail, program website and other materials
Operate standard office equipment and use required software applications
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
Intermediate concepts, principles and practices of community organizing, advocacy and civic engagement
Arab/Middle Eastern issues, culture and languages is preferred
Skill in:
Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications for program area and other applications, including Microsoft Office
Community Outreach / Activism
Ability to:
Incite enthusiasm and influence, motivate and persuade others to achieve desired outcomes
Organize, manage and track multiple detailed tasks and assignments
Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
Handle stressful situations and provide a high level of customer service in a calm and professional manner
Establish and maintain effective working relationships
Speak and/or write in Arabic is preferred
Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:
Minimum Degree Required:
o Associate degree or 60 semester credits of study (or 90 quarter credits) in a related field
Required Disciplines:
o Political Science, Public Policy, Communications or related field

At least three years of field organizing and advocacy experience required or any equivalent combination of experience, education and/or training approved by Human Resources
Demonstrated personal alignment with ACCESS mission and advocacy priorities is required

Hours: Normal business hours, some additional hours may be required
Travel Required: Local travel up to 75%
