Job Summary: Under limited supervision, the Manager of Social Media plays a pivotal, multifaceted and dynamic role in amplifying the organization’s mission by leading all social media efforts, growing the organization’s online presence, and fostering an engaged community, both regionally and nationally. This role is responsible for the development, execution, and reporting of the organization’s social media strategies. This position will also be part of a lean Marketing & Communications team embedded with the departments that partner with program leads to achieve the institution’s goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Craft a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with the organization’s goals, objectives and programming
- Develop high-quality, engaging and culturally relevant content evergreen and tentpole that reflects the organization’s voice and mission across priority social platforms
- Build and foster deeper relationships between followers and brand
- Collaborate with Marketing & Communications and department leads to create and execute social media campaigns that support department initiatives, exhibitions, events and fundraising efforts
- Track, analyze, and report on social media performance, using insights to refine strategy and optimize content to increase engagement and growth
- Keep up with social media trends, tools, and best practices to ensure cohesive and holistic representation of the department and organization on social platforms
- Identify and build relationships with influencers, content creators, and communities to increase visibility and expand reach
- Develop, manage, create and execute social media content strategies
- Ensure brand’s voice is consistently represented in all content
- Conduct competitive analysis to identify new opportunities and improvements
- Collaborate with marcomms to plan and execute paid social media campaigns as appropriate
- Operate standard office equipment and use required software applications
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
- Social media best practices including content creation, platform management, and audience engagement strategies
- Photo, video, and social asset production experience
- Social media publishing, listening, and reporting
- Social media analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Sprout Social)
- Knowledge of Arab American history and culture is a plus
- Proficiency in Arabic is a strong plus
- Experience with paid social is a plus
- Experience with social commerce is a plus
Skill in:
- Photo, video, and social asset production experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a passion for storytelling
- Creative mindset with a keen eye for design
- Strong understanding of the latest trends in social media
- Solution-oriented person who takes initiative to provide/or search for answers to issues
- Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications for program area and other applications, including Microsoft Office

- Monitor and report on feedback and online reviews
- Foster relationships with key influencers and brand advocates
- Demonstrate ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
