Resource Teacher, 21st Century Program

Job Title:        Resource Teacher, 21st Century Program

Employment Type:         Regular Part-Time

Job Summary: Under limited supervision, and receiving general guidance and direction from management, uses skills obtained through experience and/or formal training to collaborate with Site Leaders to ensure school day and 21st Century Community Learning Centers program are in alignment.  This role functions as a liaison between the school day and after school programs. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • With the assistance of the principal and other school faulty, identify students who meet program participation criteria.
  • Provide student names and proof of student meeting enrollment criteria for program recruitment; student Individual Learning Plan (ILP), or equivalent; student grades at the end of marking periods
  • Provide student Individualized Education Plan (IEP), Individual Learning Plan (ILP), or equivalent, for students who have a IEP, ILP, or equivalent to the Site Leader
  • Determine, create and implement professional development for staff in collaboration with the Site Leader
  • Participate in site’s quality assessment and improvement process
  • Work with the Site Leader and after school program staff (teachers, instructors, tutors) to create an after-school program designed to engage students in stimulating enrichment activities to build core academic skills, confidence, and life skills
  • Monitor, mentor, and coach site staff in collaboration with the Site Leader to ensure the quality of program content and delivery
  • Gather student data for the purpose of recruiting and grouping students and demonstrating program/student growth and areas of needed improvement
  • In collaboration with the evaluator, principal, Site Leader and the Program Supervisor, analyze data collected and provide recommendations
  • Work with the Site Leader to design and lead professional development in academic best practices
  • Attend and participate in meetings during regular “check points” following the release of student data (testing, report cards, etc.). These meetings will inform principal and program staff of student achievement and will help in making timely decisions regarding the program design, curricula/strategies used, and staffing
  • Effectively communicate program information to school day staff
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of:

  • Educational processes and techniques attributed Developmentally Appropriate Practice (DAP)

 

Skill in:

  • Organization and time management.
  • Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications including Microsoft Office, Google Docs, etc.

  • Maintain confidentiality of student, parents and clients
  • Partner with other functional areas to accomplish objectives

  • Read a limited number of two and three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak and answer questions effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization

 

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum Degree Required:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Required Disciplines: Education Childhood or Secondary Education

 

At least 2 years’ experience in an educational setting and/or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources. Must work in the school day program that the 21st Century Community Learning Centers Program is offered.

 

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Licenses/Certifications Required at Date of Hire:
    • Teaching Certificate
  • Training Requirements:
    • 16 clock hours of training throughout the year
    • Blood borne Pathogens training

 

Working Conditions:

 

Hours:   Hours may vary based on assigned school.  Some additional hours may be required.

 

Travel Required: Some local travel is required

 

Working Environment:    Climate controlled environment during business hours
