Network Manager

Location: Dearborn, MI

Job Title:  Network Manager

Job Status:  Full-time

Job Summary:  Under limited supervision, the Network Manager is responsible for running the day-to-day business operations of the IT Department, including but not limited to: coordination with other departments to implement and enforce new policies and procedures; develop and implement formal training opportunities for ACCESS staff pertaining to technology related topics with a focus on threat mitigation, best practices and newly implemented technologies. In addition to these duties, the Network Manager will be responsible for monitoring support queues to ensure support requests are dealt with in a timely manner, and address technical issues as needed. The Network Manager will also make a significant contribution to any technical projects lead by the IT Director as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain functionality of user devices including all laptops, desktop PCs and mobile devices as well as technology used in the organization
  • Manage the organization’s servers and ensure functionality
  • Ensure security procedures are implemented and enforced
  • Ensure all desktops, PCs, laptops, printers, projectors, etc., are functioning properly
  • Diagnose and resolve technical problems as they arise
  • Monitor system backups
  • Evaluate and recommend hardware and software products and procures as directed
  • Maintain currency in computer technology and network administration and security
  • Develop policies and procedures and implement and enforce through the coordination with other key departments
  • Develop training curriculum and materials for ACCESS staff training pertaining to threat mitigation, best practices, and utilizing new technologies
  • Have continued conversations with Director of IT to inform of need of equipment and trainings for budgeting purposes
  • Monitor and manage support queues to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner
  • Operate standard office equipment and use required software applications
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of:

  • Office365, Azure, Windows Server 2012 through Windows Server 2022, Microsoft SQL Server 2016 through SQL Server 2022
  • Veeam Backup & Replication 11
  • Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager
  • Microsoft Hyper-V
  • WatchGuard Firewalls
  • Mitel Connect VOIP Platform
  • Physical hardware (Servers, Desktops, Laptops, etc.)
  • AANM Exhibit Hardware (AMX, MediaMatrix, BrightSign, A/V Playback hardware, etc.), is preferred

Skill in:

  • Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications for program area and other applications, including Microsoft Office

Ability to:

  • Partner with other functional areas to accomplish objectives
  • Gather information, identify linkages and trends, and apply findings to assignments
  • Interpret and apply policies and identify and recommend changes as appropriate
  • Organize and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
  • Provide a high level of customer service
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organization

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum Degree Required:
    • Associate degree
    • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Required Disciplines:
    • Computer Science or related field

  • At least 3 years of experience in a technical support role and working with and troubleshooting network configurations or any equivalent combination of experience, education and/or training approved by Human Resources

Working Conditions:

Hours: Normal business hours, some additional hours may be required

Travel Required: Local travel required

Working Environment: Climate controlled office
